So sad. Why must we hate?
How people, especially the Chinese, are handling the Philippine hostage situation really really makes me sad. A Philippine-Hate group nearing 100,000 on Facebook? We’re a country of nearly 100 million. How could the actions of one man represent 100 million people? Sure, we all have realized that the hostage situation was poorly handled. And there are some people who don’t seem to have the common sense or respect for the situation. But what about the rest of us? Who are mourning the death of these people as well? We’re now the butt of every hateful comment. I thought the world was about destroying hate altogether. But now that we’ve gotten into a situation like this, which, by the way, could have happened absolutely ANYWHERE, people blow things way out of proportion, and hate has infiltrated people’s minds. People blame our president because of a snapshot of him seemingly smiling? If you were the least bit open-minded, you would realize that when our president speaks, his teeth just happen to show up more than usual. It just makes me really sad that the entire country has to be completely shamed and hated. I hope one day people realize the gravity of hate, and how we all should be united to condemn the crime and to mourn the victims. May they rest in peace, and may we live in peace.
